The Different Shopping Ways
Nowadays, we can go shopping in different ways, such as department stores and mail-order catalogues. As far as I am concerned, the differences between them can be listed below: shopping time, fit or not, feeling the merchandise.
The time of department stores is limited. You can go to the stores in their opening hours and get the merchandise immediately. When it is holiday, the stores always are crowed of people. Otherwise, you can shop by mail-order catalogues at any time and any place. After ordered, you have to wait for few days to get the merchandise.
In department stores, you can try the stuff in person and get the suggestion from the clerk. Sometimes you might discover other stuff which is more suitable to you. Nevertheless, ordering by the mail-order catalogues, you have to consider the size. If you chose the wrong size, you have to send the merchandise back to change the size. It almost needs to spend more times to wait for the merchandise.
When we enter the department stores, we can see and touch the whole goods personally. Touching the merchandise, we can feel the material. On the contrary, we just can see the pictures and read the description to understand the goods when we shop by mail-order catalogues. Sometimes it might has some differences between pictures and goods, such as color and quality.
To sum up, there are advantages and disadvantages between department stores and mail-order catalogues. However, we also have a lot of choices to go shopping. Likewise, we can compare the goods and the prices to buy the cheapest goods.
